Some history regarding this diarama.

Every time I visited my brother in Scotland his optometrist friend, Bill Aitchison always put a day aside to take us for sail on the River Clyde near the Kyles of Bute. These were wonderful days filled with bacon rolls, jokes, music, drams and overall great camaraderie.  

To thank Bill for his kindness I carved an optometrist in a kilt pointing to an easel holding an eye chart. Now, years later, I’ve carved another optometrist, this time adding a patient trying his hardest to identify the amber nectar bottle in the middle of the last row.
